This 18” necklace includes 9 peach colored (pink/orange) pearls which are 7mm-8mm in width and 8mm-9mm in length. Between each pearl is a rhodium-coated silver chain finished with a silver lobster clasp. This is a simple but cute necklace that can be worn with any casual outfit.
Unlike saltwater pearls that come from oysters, freshwater pearls are produced in mussels. In some cases, many pearls can be produced in a single mussel and each mussel may be able to undergo several pearl production cycles. The growth cycle can sometimes be shorter than with saltwater pearls. These and other production cost efficiencies coupled with competitive market forces have kept freshwater pearls relatively low priced compared with saltwater pearls. These pearls definitely are the bargain in today’s pearl market. "Charlotte" means "Little and Womanly" in French.
